The overall purpose of the Elsie Whitlow Stokes Community Freedom Public Charter School (Stokes School) Parent Teacher Organization is to supplement and assist Stokes families, faculty and staff in their efforts to optimize the learning and social environment for Stokes Scholars.
As the Stokes PTO, we are about parents and teachers working together. Our goal is to create a better school and a better educational experience for our children. We work to create an atmosphere where everyone can do their best work.

Tasha Zuzalek
Mom to Ornella (2F) and Oneill (PKFB). I love my hometown of Santa Barbara, the beach, crafts (when I have time!), organizing, planning, and cats — including our two senior kitties. My flagship contribution to Stokes is Staff Appreciation Week, and this year I’m excited to expand my PTO role by co-chairing communications with Lauren!
Heather Clark
Married to Chad Clark, mom to Zoë (4th grade Spanish) and Cairo (PK-4 Spanish A). I enjoy food, photography, playing tennis, and watching true crime. Fun fact: I was born and raised in the other Washington…the state. Howard University brought me to the city.
